A No nonsense Fashion Friday
SO excited to see so much enthusiasm already for my Harry & David Chocolate Covered Strawberry giveaway! But I’m not too surprised 😛 remember you have until Sunday at 11:59PM EST to enter!
I’m a huge fan of leggings…like to the point where most of my frequently worn jeans are jeggings at this point. I recently had the chance, as a member of Clever Girls Collective, to receive some No nonsense tights and leggings to review. I have to admit I don’t really wear tights, but I also appreciate a chance to try a new fashion find. I was also psyched to see that the leggings I received were corduroy! I own leggings, and I own jeggings. But courdurings? Yes, I made that up. And no, I didn’t already own a pair. Score!
I love wearing corduroy during the colder months; the fabric just fits so well with the vibe here in New England. It also paired perfectly with the contrasting leather and fabric materials of my Dollhouse boots. Leggings also are perfect for boots season because of the lack of pants-bunching that occurs when said pants are tucked into said boots. I’m sure many of you guys -and girls – feel me.
Once I’d picked out the boots I was going to pair with the leggings, the rest of my outfit came together easily. I picked out a chunky scarf to pair with the knitted fabric of the boots, and a plain denim shirt of my sister’s. I’d been dying to rock the denim shirt trend and this ensemble seemed to be the perfect opportunity.
I got a lot of compliments on the leggings at work that day (I work in a very casual office) and they felt comfy throughout the eight-hour day. No riding up, no sagging.
I’m thankful to have received such a neutral color. I’m not sure if I’d have been confident enough to rock a color like red! Of course, I always welcome a fashion challenge. I like that several color options are available. And for $18.99, this price isn’t half bad, especially when you consider how much these look like corduroys and how expensive real corduroy pants are.
Now for the tights. I realized I could easily just substitute tights in many outfits for the black leggings I’d normally wear. So I picked out an outfit I’d wear leggings with, put on my black tights (again love the neutral) color, and enjoyed how much fancier they made me feel! To me tights make an outfit more special and dressy, even if they’re the same color as the leggings I’d normally wear.

I wore the above ensemble to work and got a lot of compliments again! I went the casual route for a Pinterest party at my blend Bethany’s apartment. I’ve been dying to try the shorts-with-tights trend and we were supposed to use Pinterest as inspiration for hair, makeup, style, food, everything at the party. I’ve seen outfits on Pinterest similar (I hope) to what I put together and felt it appropriate! Best part – the tights are just $5.49. Affordable Pinterest-inspired outfit FTW!

No nonsense products are available online, as well as in both food/drug and mass retail stores. You can follow the company on Twitter and Facebook too for giveaways! They actually just signed on Jill Martin to be a brand ambassador, which is pretty cool. I’m thankful to the brand for having gotten me more into tights!
