MIMM: Weekend in Pictures
It’s Marathon Monday! This is my first Marathon Monday as a Boston resident and I hope to get out of work a little early today so I can meet up with friends and take in the event. To do that I had to put in Sunday work time, and since I write these posts on Sundays, this will be a quick one! And don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll do a marathon-centric blog post, but seeing as I haven’t experienced it yet I’m holding off!
Share your marvelous on Katie‘s link-up. Thanks for hosting, recent-birthday-girl!
It was a marvelous weekend despite a Sunday spent feeling pretty guilty about my eats/drinks from the night prior, and also not loving my body at all. But gotta push on and hopefully the meaningful day here in Boston will help me refocus on what is most important in life.
Tried out a new-to-us spot by the office with some coworkers on Friday, while we killed time before an event. Asian restaurants are not places to go for good cocktails but they are places to go for pretty drinks!
I met up with Leigh after the event got out!
Jeff and his girlfriend Alison were in town, and came to meet up after their dinner. It was so great to reunite! Just look how big my smile is.
Cheese and brussels do not a meal make. After the bar I grabbed a midnight falafel salad from a late-night spot by my apartment, and it was great! I watched “Sex and the City”, drank a Bordeaux, and nommed this up. Perfect end to my Friday.
Saturday night Jeannie and I worked Boston’s Wine Riot for 90+ and this is our table setup! This is prior to the event’s start – the neatest it looked all night.
We had enough people staffed so that Jeannie and I could alternate with two others and walk around the event. I bartered our wine for this amazing Jasper Hill cheese!
I also bartered our wine for these Bon Me coconut chicken and paprika tofu buns! The tofu was underwhelming (very dry) but I liked the chicken!
Second Glass (the company that puts on Wine Riot) is known for their awesome photo booths!
I was pleasantly surprised to run into Becki at Wine Riot – and damn can we color coordinate!
After my workout I spent Sunday doing food prep, computer work, and laundry. I made this Fannetastic Food Sweet Potato Lentil Chili to have for the week and also had it for dinner that night! It was quite good and I’ll probably freeze some of it, there’s SO much left!
What was the most marvelous part of your weekend?
Did you whip up any good recipes, or dine at any good restaurants?
Will you be following the marathon today?
